Yahoo Mail adds existing iPhone features for iPad

Yahoo has released an update for its Mail app for iOS, featuring enhancements for iPad users. The service includes 1TB of free storage space, and one's inbox can be personalized with Flickr themes that sync across devices. Yahoo Mail v3.1.0 aims to offer more access to information in a consolidated space, with news, search, and snapshots of weather, sports scores and more now available. Filters can be created, edited and deleted for one's mail, and various performance and bug fixes. Free to download, Yahoo Mail requires iOS 7.0 or later, and a mail account through Yahoo.

Yahoo Mail iOS app updated, features iOS 7 redesign

Yahoo Mail for iOS has received an update, offering new content features. The mail app is newly enhanced with personalized new content, search function, and "snapshots" of weather, sport scores, stocks, News Digest and more. Users can access folders, drafts, sent mail, and contacts from the Mail sidebar. Navigation between messages can be achieved through swiping left or right. Various improvements to performance are also included in v3.0, as well as bug fixes. Yahoo Mail 3.0 (free) is available for download on iTunes.

Windows Blue to be renamed Windows 8.1 for release

Microsoft may name its upcoming operating system refresh Windows 8.1, if a leaked image is proven correct. A screenshot posted on WinForum.eu and confirmed by sources of ZDNet shows the leaked Windows Blue build adding a suffix to the Windows 8 name instead of using Windows 9. The RT edition will be known as Windows RT 8.1. Though unlikely, it is still possible for Microsoft to give the OS update a different name, as a firm release date has yet to be set.

Hacker details attack process in YouTube video

[Updated with Yahoo response] Yahoo Mail accounts have been hacked, with a DOM-based cross-site scripting vulnerability being the main vector of attack. Details of the hack, including how to perform the attack on specific e-mail accounts, has appeared online in a YouTube video demonstration, with the entire attacking process taking just a couple of minutes.
