Company promises absolutely symmetrical headphone sound
Audio device manufacturer Sennheiser has shown off two headphone amplifiers at IFA 2012. The digital HDVD 800 and the newly announced analog HDVA 600 both up the power heading to high-end headphones, with a significant price tag to match. The company claims that the fully symmetrical layout for analog audio sources ensures "absolutely symmetrical signal transmission" to the headphones.

Subwoofer interacts wireless system
Sonos has introduced the Sub, a wireless subwoofer designed to work alongside the company's amplified systems with wireless support. The resin cabinet integrates a pair of acoustic ports and speaker cones, each facing inward in a configuration that is claimed to eliminate buzz or rattle, while dual Class D amplifiers provides the power.

Griffin Twenty amps, streams iOS audio
Among the companies announcing AirPlay-based electronics at CES are Griffin and Acoustic Research. Griffin's contribution is the Twenty, an amp that pairs with an AirPort Express to pump AirPlay audio into a nearby speaker. The amp supports 2.1 channels, producing up to 20W of output per channel. Users can also attach a powered subwoofer; automatic active crossover kicks in at 80Hz. A pricing and a launch date for the Twenty remain unannounced.
