Panasonic has lined up a new professional HD camcorder for release in Japan. The AG-AF105A is an upgrade to the AF105, originally released in Japan in 2010, and can use Micro Four Thirds-compatible DSLR lenses as well as normally used Cinema lenses, thanks to its Micro Four Thirds mount.
Sony has teased the release of a new professional-level camcorder. An image for an event on October 30th appeared on the company's Facebook account and shows camera equipment marked with CineAlta, Sony's high-end cinematography brand, along with a hashtag for something called "The New F."
JVC has announced two new ProHD handheld cameras designed for broadcasters and the release of the first handheld 4K camcorder at the NAB show today. The GY-HM600 and GY-HM650 are what JVC calls “next-generation handheld ProHD” cameras suitable for mobile broadcasting, and the previously announced GY-HMQ10 is a camera which allows for realtime capture, record, and display of 4K video.
Toshiba has begun shipping the Camileo AIR10, a pocket camcorder that features Wi-Fi connectivity. The device enables users to shoot 1080p video and upload the content to the Internet or a computer without requiring a direct connection via USB. The Wi-Fi connection also enables wireless webcam and streaming functionality.
