Extensis extends font management software integration to Creative Cloud
Extensis has revealed two font-related updates for both Suitcase Fusion 5 and Universal Type Client 4. The changes introduce direct integration with Adobe Creative Cloud, allowing designers and developers to bring Typekit fonts directly into their font management workflow, along with compatibility with OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

Monotype on Tuesday updated its font management product for Mac, FontExplorer X Pro, to version 4.0. The new version now supports Web fonts (WOFF and EOT types), OpenType features and the company's own SkyFonts technology. Additionally, the program is now available either as a standalone product or as part of the company's Fonts.com Web Fonts subscription plans. A "mini view" and slide show feature have also been added, along with an improved main font list and enhanced "smart sets" functionality.
UTS 3 offers real-time fonts, over-use reports
Extensis today launched an update to its font management server software, Universal Type Server 3. The software controls compliance with font licensing and workflow for end users. Version 3 adds real-time font usage and availability, while offering compliance policing with over-usage reports. The update adds seamless server failover, new client creativity tools and Adobe InCopy and Photoshop support.
Suitcase Fusion 2 updates to 13.2
Extensis has released Suitcase Fusion 2 version 13.2, an update to its desktop font-manager. Suitcase Fusion 2 provides tools for creating or organizing fonts, and allows users to create multiple libraries for simpler navigation. The upgrade features support for Apple’s latest Mac OS X 10.6 operating system, including the Snow Leopard’s improved system fonts. Additional support is also added for TrueType Collection fonts, as well as Adobe InDesign and Illustrator CS2 plug-ins.
SharewarePublisher 1.1 ($56) allows developers to easily submit their applications to different software listing sites and repositories. The application comes with a list of almost 200 pre-configured shareware sites, about 100 of which list Mac software. Users can track how many sites they have submitted their application too and how many have listed the software. The latest release includes a new feature which can automatically copy a product's category from a submission form and store it in the softwares database. The update also fixes a problem where a created site was not displayed in the Sites drawer and a drag and drop issue present in Snow Leopard. [Download - 3.4MB]
Product Manager 1.3 ($30) is used to help companies manage their products, through the creation of an unlimited number of documents, which can further contain an unlimited number of products inside. All items stored in the program can also be organized into subdivisions and contain generic data fields, releases notes, press releases, bug lists and to-do lists. In version 1.3 the upper bar has been updated to display the selected products icon, family, and product name. The new version allows allows users to lock any element of a products and includes a bug fix for the Browse mode. [Download - 0.93MB]

Extensis has released v2.0 of its font server program. Universal Type Server enables users to store fonts on its server, listing them in a single centralized library. Users can activate each font, assigning it to a project to ensure there is font consistency across all users who work on the project.
FontVista 4.0 released
Morrison SoftDesign has announced FontVista 4.0 for Mac OS X. FontVista is a font catalog and inspection program that allows designers to quickly access and preview font collections. FontVista will inspect fonts that are actively loaded in a user's system, as well as fonts that are not loaded or installed. It supports numerous font formats and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 and higher and is available as a free demo; it can be purchased for $40, with a site-license available for $150.

Released in 2 versions, 'Lite' for teams of up to 10 people, and 'Pro' for 10 users or more, Universal Type Server is a direct evolution of Extensis's Suitcase and Font Reserve Server product lines. Shipping on June 18, 2008, Universal is client/server solution that manages fonts and font metadata such as licenses, classifications, foundries and keywords. Insider updates font apps
Insider Software has released FontAgent Pro 4 and FontAgent Pro Server 2.5, updates to its font management applications for the Mac. FontAgent Pro 4 adds "Smart Profiling" for automatic discovery of font metrics; easy font searching of font metrics, descriptors, categories and keywords; automatic assignment of fonts to categories for display and searching; dynamically updating font sets; a more intelligent install that copies and configures correct plug-ins for installed creative applications; a new window for viewing, comparing, activating and printing font outlines and metrics; built-in font integrity checking; and FontSavant auto-activation and MagicMatch relevancy ranking for activating the right fonts.
