Packages to launch in March
LG is currently teasing new 3D home theater systems that the company plans to show off next week at CES in Las Vegas. The products include three separate packages, each pairing the one of the company's Cinema 3D televisions with different bookshelf speakers, towers, subwoofers and center channels.

Receiver paired with 5.1-channel speakers
Yamaha has introduced its latest home theater system, the BDX-610, which pairs an A/V receiver with six speakers. The 5.1-channel receiver features a 3D Blu-ray player, along with a network connection that enables users to access BD-Live and Netflix, among other services. Users can attach iOS devices via USB, with audio from iPhones or iPods sent as a digital PCM signal.

Samsung on Wednesday unveiled its 2010 lineup of four Blu-ray players along with new Blu-ray Home Theater systems. The flagship Blu-Ray player includes the BD-C6900 that features built-in 3D playback and supports the new 3D Blu-ray standard, while the BD-C7500 offers what Samsung claims is the slimmest Blu-ray player in a new "nature-inspired" contemporary form factor; the BD-C6500 combines performance and speed along with affordability and the entry-level BD-C5500 delivers an eco design. All of its players support Internet@TV, providing access to a wide range of online content.

Sony to intro 2.1 system?
A Sony Insider report published over the weekend suggests Sony will soon release a simple 2.1-channel home theater sound system that has its 200W amplifier and receiver built into the subwoofer enclosure. The specs of the new system should be very close to those of the company‘s current HT-CT100 3.1-channel system that uses a sound bar instead of the HT-FS1’s pair of speakers.
