HTC Android security flaw acknowledged, fixes due
The Wi-Fi security flaw present in some Android-powered HTC smartphones has been acknowledged by the manufacturer on its support page. When connected to Wi-Fi networks, hackers can take advantage of the flaw to gain security access credentials. The flaw was discovered by researchers Chris Hessing and Bret Jordan and would allow the details to be sent to a remote server on the Internet.

Android 2.2 to come to myTouch 3G Slide in June?
The myTouch 3G Slide, due for a release at T-Mobile on June 2nd, may ship with Android 2.2 or get it soon afterds, if a report proves accurate. Two sources said that the latest software isn't ready at launch, it may just arrive as an update within days of the handset's release. Rumors from AndroidSpin have the new OS coming to T-Mobile staff next week so they can begin testing.

T-Mobile stores to open early on June 19th
A leaked memo to T-Mobile stores reveals the provider has a big event planned for June 19 that involves early, 8AM openings of its stores. The reason for this remains unknown, though could be related to the release earlier in the month of the myTouch 3G Slide. The handset has been officially confirmed for a June 2nd release at the carrier, however, so this could be something else entirely.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G with 3.5mm input due Feb 10th
T-Mobile will get a very slightly revised version of the myTouch 3G smartphone on February 10th, according to a Tuesday BGR leak. The design changes are small but notably involve adding a standard 3.5mm headset jack instead of depending on an adapter for HTC's ExtUSB port.

myTouch 3G pre-orders up
The myTouch 3G handset introduced by T-Mobile late last month is now available for pre-order at the wireless provider by current T-Mobile subscribers. At the same time, some online product brochures on the handset reveal it will have visual voicemail, becoming the first Android-powered handset to sport the feature. The handset is priced at $200 on a two-year contract for current subscribers who are eligible for an upgrade.
