During a small event in Seattle today, Amazon confirmed the numerous rumors circling the Internet about a smartphone from the company. The Fire Phone was introduced by CEO Jeff Bezos to a crowd of 300, showing off a number of features including a 3D display and Firefly. Printer Pro adds nine languages, currently free to download
Wireless printing app for iPhone PrinterPro has announced that it has been localized into nine languages. Now the app is available in German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese as well as English. The software allows users to print attachments, documents and web pages from their iPhone on any Wi-Fi or USB-connected printer. Currently free for the remainder of its 24-hour promotion, Printer Pro can be downloaded through iTunes, and is normally priced at $5.
Better sound syncing, Retina graphics, audio markers, more
Software maker Boinx has brought out a milestone release of its flagship slideshow creator, FotoMagico 4. The new version adds support for the Retina display of the new MacBook Pros, and adds a number of new features and a lengthy list of improvements, tweaks and fixes to the program, which goes beyond what Keynote, Powerpoint or iPhoto can achieve in terms of versatility and fine control of slideshow presentations. The update includes a more intuitive user interface, up to six layers on a single slide, a Timeline mode and more.
iPresent It 2.4 ($18) allows users to convert PowerPoint, PDF or Keynote presentations into slideshows that can then be synced with an iPod. The software optimizes shows for viewing on an iPod or Apple TV and can automatically detect the presentation resolution and ensure that the resulting formation is formatted properly. More Add-ons for iWork
Two new products offer more choices for users of Apple’s iWork suite. Ipresentee is offering free downloads of Keynote Objects -- images for use in Keynote presentations and Pages documents. IWebtemplate, meanwhile, is partnering with iPresentee and 11 Mystics to add 22 templates to its online store. Each template is available for individual download.
AMEX USB remote
AMEX Digital recently announced a multi-featured device, the RM-mp1, capable of acting as a computer's remote control, laser pointer and mouse touchpad. The ultra-wideband Wireless USB device is meant to act as an all-in-one presentation aid, allowing users to control slide shows originating from a PC, then pointing out any specifics with the integrated laser pointer. Its dedicated media buttons allow it to be used for personal, home-entertainment purposes as well.
Slideshow Magic 5
Koingo Software has officially unveiled Slideshow Magic 5, a new version of the company's presentation tool that offers numerous enhancements and bug fixes. These include the ability to rotate frames, a completely revamped interface, and more advanced slide titling options. The tool now allows users to add an audio track to the entire slideshows, or add smaller audio clips for each segment and include transitions with varying durations between slides, and even insert customizable titles
Two new Keynote themes have made their debut. Divine Fiat has announced the immediate availability of Distressed, its latest theme for Apple's Keynote presentation software. Distressed "remains subtle and keeps your images and information front and center while bringing a hip edge to your next presentation." It features artistic flare and understated pinstriping, using six slides of extras. Comixware SE v3.0 ships
Yi.magination Studios this week released Comixware SE v3.0, its interactive storytelling software. The company says the application marries multimedia presentation/editing and an interactive player/editor into a single system designed for both content creators and views. In addition, both viewers and authors can modify and remake other user’s multimedia presentation in Comixware’s object-oriented authoring environment. Version 3, codenamed SE, is a major revision that includes a new file system with a new modular architecture that allows users to integrate movie-making tools along with other modules such as a Movie Exporter or vendor assets.
PulpMotion Advanced 1.0
Aquafadas has released PulpMotion Advanced 1.0, a next generation slideshow and animation application that creates slideshows based on highly customizable themes. The software allows users to present pictures as well as video in a single animation that can be shared as video, screensaver or executable player.
