Offers quad-band 3G, auto failover
Nova Media in Berlin and Belgium company Option have made available a combo router with support for both broadband and quad-band 3G which supports up to 14.4 Mbit per second download and 5.76 Mbit per second uploads, compatible with most 3G networks worldwide. The GlobeSurfer III+ also offers DSL failover, automatically switching to cellular data and switching back when the broadband connection returns.

Cisco multi-purpose router shows at FCC
The Cisco REN301 Residential Gateway Wi-Fi router has shown at the FCC undergoing compliance testing prior to its release. The device is a single-band router that supports 802.11 b/g/n and incorporates a color LCD display. It also includes capacitive touch buttons that allows the device to be set up and configured without the need to use a PC.

Connection automatically switched as needed
AirLive has introduced the Air3G, a multifunction router capable of working with USB-attached wireless broadband modems. Users can configure the the router to choose the wired connection for primary use, while the 3G modem is automatically enabled only if the primary connection is disrupted. To help prevent overage charges on a wireless broadband account, the router automatically switches back to the standard connection as soon as service resumes.

GlobeSurfer X.1 ships
nova media has launched the GlobeSurfer X.1, a WLAN b/g/n router that connects via ethernet or 3G modem. The router has two 100 Mbps ethernet ports, a USB 2.0 port for a 3G connection and a standard USB 2.0 port that supports an external drive or offers print-serving with an attached printer. It uses a web interface for configuration and arrives with a quick setup wizard for assembling a local network.

TRENDnet 300Mbps
TRENDnet has begun shipping its latest network device, the TEW-654TR Wireless N travel router kit. The router supports theoretical transfer speeds of up to 300Mb/s, although typical results will likely be slower. A compact housing measures just 60 x 80 x 18.5mm, while users can power the device from either an included AC adapter or USB cable.

GlobeSurfer III shipping
nova media has released the GlobeSurfer III, a 3G wireless router for the Mac. The router can link to a mobile network using WLAN (802.11 B and G networks) and gigabit Ethernet to distribute the connection. The router supports up to 7.2Mb/s downloads speeds and 5.7Mb/s upload speeds. It also links to the Internet via WLAN connections at 54Mb/s speeds.

GPS WI-Fi, apps for Iphone
PosiMotion says it will introduce new applications and a GPS-enabled WiFi router when the iTunes AppStore opens Friday. The software titles include G-Spot, which brings GPS-like features to older iPhone and iPod Touch models, G-Park to help users remember where they parked, and G-Minds, a pubishing program for developers. The company has also announced what it calls “the world’s first mobile GPS network router," the G-Fi."

CradlePoint PHS300
CradlePoint recently unveiled a new EVDO-sharing WiFi router, the PHS300, allowing users to connect 3G-based cellphones or 3G USB modems to the device and share the connection with any WiFi enabled device. The device features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and AC power, both of which provide enough current to run a USB modem. The PHS300 supports WEP and WPA encryption, and uses a built in firewall to protect connections to the router. CradlePoint will ship the PHS300 on December 20th, and is taking pre-orders based on a price of $180.
