Game streaming service sees first expansion into television market, still in beta

Television owners feeling left out of the PlayStation Now beta program no longer need to be, as long as they own one of a select number of Sony televisions. The electronics manufacturer announced that on June 30, the PlayStation 3 game streaming service will come to the company's 4K Ultra HD televisions, as well as a small number of 1080p Bravia units.

Samsung has unveiled the 2014-edition of its UHD Evolution Kit in South Korea, before a wider global release. Just like last year's version, the Evolution Kit upgrades the 4K-resolution televisions sold by the manufacturer in the previous year, providing owners with access to the company's more-recent smart TV features without buying another television.

Large curved display can show higher-than-4K resolution, uses TFT instead of OLED

LG has revealed two more televisions that it will be showing off at CES in January at the same time as its Ultrawide 4K monitor and the Chromebase all-in-one computer. A television the company calls the world's first 105-inch curved Ultra HD set will make an appearance alongside a smart TV running on WebOS, the operating system the company picked up from HP earlier this year.

BT Wi-Fi app for iOS updates with automatic hotspot connection

UK telecommunications giant BT has updated its BT Wi-Fi app for iOS, allowing customers to automatically connect to supported wireless hotspots. The update, which could head to the Android and Windows Phone versions in the future, will find and connect to public BT Wi-Fi hotspots as well as those created by BT Home Hub routers in more than 5 million subscriber homes, reports The Next Web.
