Sony has unveiled new curved Ultra HD televisions in its Bravia collection , following after similar high-resolution launches by Samsung and LG. The Bravia S90 range is made up of two televisions, measuring 75 inches and 65 inches, with both having a concave display panel, the ability to play back 4K-resolution and 3D content, and a 4.2-channel speaker system.
High-resolution Acer Ultra HD display available in United States
Acer has put a Ultra HD monitor on sale in the United States, aimed at the professional market. Measuring 28 inches, the B286HK has a native 3,840x2,160 resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio, is said to offer sharp pictures and high color accuracy courtesy of its included six-axis color adjustment system, and has a maximum contrast ratio of 100 million to one, with a response time of 2ms.
Curved LG OLED 4K television apparently shipping in September
Just days after LG put its 105-inch curved Ultra HD television up for pre-order, it appears the electronics producer is preparing to do the same with a smaller model. The 65EC9700, a 65-inch Ultra HD curved television using OLED will apparently start shipping sometime in September, with a price tag far below its 105-inch counterpart.
Bendable Ultra HD television can switch from flat to curved screen using motors
A television capable of moving from a flat display to a curved screen is being made available for pre-orders in South Korea. Samsung's Bendable Ultra HD TV is able it switch between flat and curved on its own, with motors on each side of the television pushing the edges out to create the concave shape, as well as pulling the display back to its flat form.

LG adds new 55-inch and 65-inch Ultra HD models to US lineup

Sharp is introducing a new LCD touchscreen monitor with the ability to show 4K-resolution images, following on from its earlier non-touch version. The PN-K322B Ultra HD monitor has an IGZO display panel measuring 32 inches, and is mounted on an adjustable hinge, allowing its 10-point multitouch to be used, as well as its dedicated touch pen with a tip width of just 2mm (0.08 inches).

Cinema camera manufacturer Red has started shipping its 4K media player. Users of the Red User forum have started to receive their pre-orders of the Redray Player, which Red bills as a comprehensive media source for owners of Ultra HD televisions that is capable of playing back native 4K video, upscaled HD video, and the company's own 4K .Red file format.
New standard allows DisplayPort to deliver UHD video
The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) has released it's new DisplayPort standard. DisplayPort Dual-Mode 1.1 will allow computers and monitors to support higher resolutions and new functionality, such as Ultra HD images through a single cable, as well as a number of refinements that will improve interoperability.
Ultra HD TV to be sold in limited quantities initially
Samsung's 85-inch ultra high-definition television has been priced ahead of its March release in South Korea. The S9 is available to pre-order in the country at a cost of 40 million won ($38,000), and though this is not necessarily the same as it will cost in the United States, the South Korean price far exceeds similar UHDTVs from other manufacturers.

Ultra HD televisions stole the show this year at CES, however none of the companies brought along a consumer-level 4K camera. Sony is a partial exception, showing off an extremely early prototype of a 4K Handycam that is claimed to be geared for the mainstream market.

Ultra HD high on the agenda for LG, along with thin bezels
LG Display has announced plans to introduce a range of Ultra HD 4K TVs at CES 2013. It has previously revealed its $20,000 flagship 84-inch model, that is now expanding to include new 55- and 65-inch models at a presumably more wallet-friendly price. Also set to take a bow is a new Ultra HD 30-inch computer monitor that will be the highest resolution monitor ever to hit the market.
LG’s 84-inch 84LM9600 TV has gone on sale in the US for $19,999. The new television features the newly defined Ultra High Defintion resolution, which was previously known as 4K. At four times the resolution of 1080p TVs, the new LG TV features a 3840x2160 amounting to a panel that contains 8 million pixels – six million more than previously.
