Taiwanese PC maker Inhon claims title of thinnest, lightest notebook

Taiwanese manufacturer Inhon has unveiled the carbon fiber Blade 13 Carbon, reports Engadget. The company claims that it is the world’s thinnest and lightest notebook weighing just 870 grams and measuring only 10.7mm thick. As a point of comparison, Apple’s 13-inch aluminum MacBook Air, once the benchmark for ultraportables, weighs 1.35kg and measures 17mm at its thickest point.

LG ships P220 ultraportable with super-narrow bezel

Updates XNOTE P210 with faster processor

LG has announced its P220 ultraportable notebook, an 11.6-inch notebook featuring a slim bezel that houses a 12.5-inch widescreen display. The IPS display is capable of a 178 degree viewing arc. The P220 is an upgrade to the P210, with a second generation Intel Core i5 processor. The ultraportable is just .82 inches thick, and weighs 2.9 pounds.

Lenovo ships ThinkPad X121e netbook in Japan

Series adds Core i3 to CPU choice

Lenovo has reportedly begun shipping its latest ultraportable ThinkPad, the X121e. The device represents the successor to the X120e, sharing the same 11.6-inch 1366x768 display and offering a choice between several AMD Fusion processors. The new offerings expand the range of available CPUs, however, with three new configurations based on Intel's second-generation Core i3-2357M chip.

Sony gives sneak peek of two new ultraportable PCs

Two new Sony ultraportables previewed

Sony used its showcase to launch its new S1 and S2 tablets to also give a sneak peak a two new ultraportable PCs. Rumors circulated in mid-March that Sony has been prepping two VAIO ultraportables and it is possible that the devices revealed yesterday are indeed these. The first is what has been dubbed the Freestyle Hybrid PC, which is a sliding device that combines a keyboard with what appears to be a touchscreen interface. The second is what has been codenamed the Ultimate Mobile PC.

Alienware M11x adds Core i5, i7 options abroad

Upgrade options expected in other markets

Confirming earlier reports, Dell has begun updating its Alienware M11x ultraportable with Intel's ULV Core i3, i5, and i7 CPUs. Malaysian customers can now purchase the device with a 1.2GHz i3-330UM, 1.06/1.86GHz Core i5-520UM, or 1.20/2.26GHz Core i7 CPU.
