Nyko ships Zoom for Kinect to reduce range
The Nyko Zoom accessory for the Xbox Kinect add-on is now shipping. Introduced at E3, the lens basically reduces the distance gamers need to stand away from the Kinect. At the E3 show, a demonstration of the gadget in action didn't reveal any glitches or shortcomings.

Tracks recorded to SD card
Zoom has introduced its latest audio product, the R8, which combines recording functionality with DAW control surfaces and a sampler. Users can simultaneously record two tracks or play eight tracks, with recording in 24-bit/48kHz resolution as WAV files on an SD card. As an audio interface connected to a computer via USB, the R8 offers dual inputs and outputs that support 24-bit/96kHz audio.

Zoom Q3HD pocket cam records stereo sound, 1080p
Digital audio recording hardware maker Samson has introduced its latest pocket camcorder, the advanced Zoom Q3HD. While others on the market can also record at 1080p resolution, the new model brings in Samson's preferred dual microphones for truer stereo sound recording. The device can record 1080p at 30FPS or 720p in either 30FPS or 60FPS.

Soom intros mutli-functional R24 audio recorder
Zoom on Wednesday unveiled its new R24 recorder. Tailored to musicians at home or with limited space, it can perform the function of four production tools. It acts as an interface, sampler, drum machine and recorder. The digital multi-track recorder can play back 24 tracks and has simultaneous eight-track recording.

Tiny Zoom H1 stereo recorder ships this summer
Zoom has released its smallest ever handheld voice recorder, the H1 Handy Recorder. The ultra-portable device weighs just two ounces and has two microphones arranged in an X/Y pattern. The H1 promises clear 24-bit, 96kHz stereo recording quality despite its size and has a new user interface touted as easier to use.

New 70-200 gets fluorite element, fifth UD element
Canon today launched a new version of its DSLR-based EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM telephoto zoom lens, alongside CES-related announcements of new PowerShot cameras. The lens is considered a staple by most professional photographers, and features a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, ultrasonic autofocus and is weather and dust resistant. The new version replaces the original IS version of the lens, with Canon's next generation optical image stabilizer, promising four stops of camera-shake correction -- the original promised only three stops.
